Axen Documentation

A decentralized, configuration-driven registry manager bridging the fragmented AI agent ecosystem. Write skills once, install them across 50+ tools instantly.

The AI ecosystem is fragmented. Axen solves this by acting as a decentralized registry manager, allowing you to seamlessly share and consume custom instructions (skills) without worrying about proprietary folder structures.

Decentralized Skill Sources

Don’t rely on a single central registry. Subscribe to multiple Git repositories or local directories simultaneously (axen source add) to curate your perfect prompt library.

Universal Agent Compatibility

Axen features built-in intelligence for the specific configuration paths of over 50 AI coding assistants (Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Devin, Goose, OpenHands, and more).

Configuration-Driven

Through axen-config.json and manifests, you control exactly what gets installed. Define custom agent targets in seconds if they aren’t natively supported yet.

Automated Sync & Pruning

Run axen update and Axen automatically fetches the latest Git commits from all sources, pushes updates to all targets, and intelligently prunes any deprecated skills.
